Season 2 begins tomorrow on March 4th!

With it comes a bunch of content that doesn’t really matter a lot, if at all, to solo and solo-ish players.  With that in mind, please look elsewhere for information about the new raid, the new Mythic+ rotation, and their associated achievements and rewards.  Blizzard’s article is a good starting place.

New Dungeon

I talked a bit about the new dungeon in my post about Patch 11.1, but I’ll mention it here too.  There is a new dungeon called Operation: Floodgate which focuses on stopping a sabotage attempt on a dam that would cause disaster in the Ringing Deeps.  It’s a 4-boss dungeon available, Blizzard says, on Heroic, Mythic, and Mythic+ difficulties.  I was able to run it as a Follower Dungeon this past week so hopefully that will still be available once Season 2 begins.

 Delves

There will be two new Delves: Sidestreet Sluice and Excavation Site 9.  Sidestreet Sluice is located in Undermine and appears to have three variants so far, with the “Sidestreet Sluice Stories” achievement for completing all of them.  Excavation Site 9 is located in the Ringing Deeps and also seems to have three variants.  Completing all three will reward the “Excavation Site 9 Stories” achievement.

The Delve enemy of this season is The Underpin, a goblin who has stolen Brann’s hat and the Season 1 curios.  The quest “Defeating the Underpin” will, of course, focus on getting the hat back.  Apparently, Brann tries out different types and styles of hats along the way, which just seems like a small perk of working through the Delves this season.  Actually defeating The Underpin will be the goal of Season 2’s new Challenge Delve located in Undermine.

There will also be new variants for the following Delves: Fungal Folly, Kriegval’s Rest, Earthcrawl Mines, The Dread Pit, Waterworks, The Sinkhole, Nightfall Sanctum, Skittering Breach, Tak-Rethan Abyss, The Underkeep, and The Spiral Weave.

Progressing Season 2’s Delver’s Journey will provide new customizations for the Delver’s Gob-Trotter, a new Delve mount for this season.  It will also reward the Delve-O-Bot 7001, a toy that transports you to a random Bountiful Delve.  Completing the Delver’s Journey will unlock the Nightfall Sanctum Campsite Scene for your Warband character screen.

There will be various Achievements and Feats of Strength for this season, including completing Tiers 4, 5, 6, all the way to 11 with lives remaining.  Completing a Tier 11 delve with lives left will also reward the “High Explorer” title.  Completing a delve on Tier 8 or higher without dying will reward the “Undying Caver” Feat of Strength.  Performing the same feat on Tier 11 will not only award the “Immortal Spelunker” Feat of Strength but also the “Immortal Spelunker” title.  Other Achievements/Feats of Strength involve Defeating the Underpin, and there’s even “The Hataclysm” Achievement which is rewarded for asking Brann to change his hat 10 times after getting it back from The Underpin.

New World Boss

As has been the case the last couple of expansions, a new season brings a new World Boss.  This World Boss is located in the Undermine, of course, and is called The Gobfather.  Defeating The Gobfather provides a chance to get, depending on your armor type, a chest, legs, waist, feet, or neck piece.

PvP

For those who might be into PvP, there are new achievements, titles, toys, and PvP Class sets to collect in the new Season.  Winning 100 rated Solo Shuffle at Elite rank and 25 Battleground Blitz matches at Elite rank both reward their own achievement, title, and the Prized Legend’s Pennant toy.  Blizzard has a list of PvP Feats of Strength and their respective rewards in their Season 2 article.  You have to scroll down a fair bit to get to the PvP section.
