Horrific Visions: Revisited is open today.  For those who played end game content in BfA this should be a familiar, if possibly groan-worthy, event.  I get the feeling a lot of people either liked Horrific Visions or hated them.  Like the BfA version, Horrific Visions will take you to corrupted versions of Stormwind and Orgrimmar where players will be asked to complete objectives and defeat certain challenges.  Unlike BfA, there is no limitation on how often you can run them.  They can be run solo or with a group, but you will also have the option to have a Construct of Soridormi to help.  The Construct can Tank, DPS, or Heal and won’t be affected by the sanity mechanic.

In BfA, players could level up their Sanity Resistance by leveling up a special cloak.  This time Sanity Resistance can be increased through the Hourglass of Horrific Visions upgrade system (more on this below) and through area completion.  Completing one Revisited Horrific Vision area once, in both Stormwind and Orgrimmar, will grant a permanent 10% Sanity Resistance while in the area.

Horrific Visions Masks are returning, with three new additional masks: Mask of Vengeance, Mask of Multitudes, and the Mask of the Nemesis.  The Masks make Horrific Visions more difficult in order to receive more of the new currency: Displaced Corrupted Mementos.  This currency will allow players to buy the Hourglass of Horrific Visions upgrades (which can increase damage, increase the Sanity bar, etc.) and to buy Horrific Visions: Revisited rewards.

Also new, Vision Tributes will allow players to passively receive additional benefits.  Various activities such as killing enemies and looting potions and Odd Crystals will passively contribute to tribute altars.  Completing milestones on the altars will grant benefits such as damage increases, regaining sanity when defeating Elites, etc.

Regardless of how you felt about them in BfA, it’s nice to have another solo activity to complete.  I don’t know how often I’ll complete them, but it is nice to have options.

  1. […] Horrific Visions: Revisited is open today.  The starting quest, “Truly Horrific to Behold,” can be picked up from the Adventure Guide’s “Suggested Content” tab or it can also be picked up from Soridormi in the Coreway in Dornogal. For more information you can check out any number of other sites (Wowhead, Icy Veins, etc.).  You could also see my short write up.
