About

The site is called “Warcraft Solo,” the tagline says “solo-ish” and posts refer to both.  What is the difference, anyway?

By definition, solo refers to playing by yourself.  For me, solo playing excludes all group content, even if the group is just you and your friend, partner, family member, etc.  Solo-ish, on the other hand, might include playing with one or two of these people.  It might even, for example, include running dungeons with a group of friends or utilizing the Group Finder to kill the World Boss.

Playing solo-ish opens you up to additional content without being beholden to a group or guild.  You can choose to play with a group or not.  You can stay with that group for multiple runs of a dungeon, or not.  Solo-ish means the ratio of solo to group content is up to you.

So why create this site?

Why, with all the World of Warcraft content out there, have I made this blog?  Well first, let me say that I am a consumer of much of that content.  I am a blog reader, podcast listener, Twitch watcher, and Youtube Watcher.  I don’t intend to compete with these content creators but to focus a little more on a subsection of players and playstyles.

Yes, most of the content being created does include events and information pertinent to solo and solo-ish players.  It does not always, however, highlight this playstyle.  While that is changing as the game changes, my goal here is to highlight and focus on this subsection of play.  Instead of having these players comb through content to weed out what is relevant, it is my hope that this site will save these players time and energy.

What can you find on this site?

First of all it’s going to be a combination of types of posts.  This is not a site that focuses only on news or only on my personal experiences or only on guides and information.  Instead a little of all of this will be present.  Some posts will be reflections, based primarily on my personal experiences, while others will be more news focused.  While it is not my goal to write guides, I do intend for some of these posts to be informative.  Guides can be found in lots of places and I don’t think they need to be recreated.  Instead I aim to highlight solo and solo-ish friendly content, news, and experiences.
