Welcome to Patch Day!  Today is a long maintenance window with the release of the new Undermine(d) Content.

Note:  The information summarized below came from Blizzard’s most recent article about the new 11.1 content.  This article holds more information than I could ever hope to include in a summary post.  As such, I have included links back to the relevant sections of the article where I felt they would be beneficial.

Twitch Drop

Coinciding with the new patch, there is a new Twitch Drop available from February 25, 10am PST, to March 25, 10am PST.  Those who have a Twitch account linked to their Battle.net account can watch 4 hours of WoW content on any channel in order to earn Tock the Clocker Spaniel pet.

Cartels

There are 4 major cartels in Undermine, with apparently a secret fifth cartel that we’ll have more information about later.

The Bilgewater Cartel is led by Monte Gazlowe and seems to be focused on inventing.  The cartel’s base is in Bilgewater Flats.

The Steamwheedle Cartel is led by Marin Noggenfogger and, appropriately for anyone who remembers the Noggenfogger Elixir, is focused on alchemy.  Their base is in The Vatworks area.

The Blackwater Cartel is led by Baron Trade Prince Revilgaz, the goblin in charge of Booty Bay, and focuses on shipping and luxury vacations.  They are located at the Blackwater Marina.

The Venture Co. Cartel, probably remembered by most players for the number of times we’ve killed them and disrupted their mines and drilling operations, focuses on resource acquisition.  They are managed by Grimla Fizzlecrank and are based in The Heaps.

Players will be able to choose a cartel to align with each week, with the promise that the player’s experience will change depending on each week’s choice.

D.R.I.V.E. System

With an acronym standing for Dynamic and Revolutionary Improvements to Vehicular Experiences, this new system allows players to travel around Undermine very quickly.

Players will complete a quest chain that rewards their very own G-99 Breakneck vehicle which they can use to travel around the city and even complete “Shipping and Handling” jobs to earn rewards.

The car will be customizable, with players able to change its color and other characteristics like faster acceleration or increased grip.

Operation: Floodgate Dungeon

During this dungeon players will work against the Darkfuse and Venture Co. in order to stop them from sabotaging a dam and endangering the Ringing Deeps.  This is a 4-boss dungeon and is available on Heroic, Mythic, and Mythic+ difficulties.

Cage of Carnage PvP Arena

For those interested in Arenas and Rated Solo Shuffle, there is a new arena in the Demolition Dome called Caged of Carnage.

WW Season 2

Season 2 will be live on March 4th, which will add in some new content and items as well as resetting some achievements, progression, and rotations.  More information on the new season can be found in Blizzard’s official article, and I’ll write more about this towards the end of this week.

Classes

There are quite a few class changes coming in this patch, too many for me to cover here.  I highly encourage players to check out Blizzard’s notes to see them all.  Wowhead likely also covers these changes and probably has guides on your favorite classes and specs.

Delves

There are new variations, most of which are goblin-themed, on a lot of the War Within delves, with two new delves available with Season 2.

Brann will now be able to tank, which should help those who are squishier and/or play as healers.  With his new role comes new talents and abilities to, hopefully, help Brann be an effective tank.

There have also been some other fixes mainly, it seems, to increase Brann’s effectiveness as a healer.

Also of note, Delver’s Bounty maps will now only be obtainable once a week in Bountiful Delves but will also have an increased drop rate.

Season 2 will also come with lower difficulty tier 9, 10, and 11 delves.  Tier 11 Bountiful delves will reward Gilded Undermine Crests up to 3 times per week and so developers have worked to balance difficulty levels accordingly.

Dungeons

For those who are interested, Blizzard has notes on various changes to various War Within dungeons.

Items

Similarly, see Blizzard’s notes on changes to various items, such as spellthreads and citrines.

Pet Battles

Those who enjoy battling to acquire new pets should be delighted to learn that there will be new collectible pets roaming wild in Undermine.

Also, completing the Khaz Algar Safari achievement will let you buy Waxwick from any stable master.

PvP

Those interested in fighting other players should check out the official list of changes, which includes a variety of changes, including some PvP talents for various classes.

Professions

Players will be able to reset their specializations once per Dragon Isles profession and once per Khaz Algar profession.  This will cause you to unlearn all the recipes and benefits that go along with these specializations and will refund the knowledge points.  Players should see Darla Fluxy (Crafter’s Enclave, Dornogal) and Siben (Valdrakken’s Artisan’s Market, by the Jewelcrafting station) to reset.

This patch also includes some changes to items made by Blacksmithing, Enchanting, Engineering, Jewelcrafting, and Leatherworking.  Again, there are too many changes for me to really go through here.  If you’re concerned or interested about the changes and/or how they will impact your professions, you can read the whole list here.

Quests

There will not only be new local goblin-focused quests, but also some new campaign quests.  These new quests will continue some storylines, such as Orwenya’s vision and the goblins’ activities at Opportunity Point in the Ringing Deeps, and will bring the players to Undermine to work with the Cartels and to investigate Gallywix’s goals.  Other new campaign quests will be released on March 3rd.

UI and Accessibility

While I don’t dislike the current Warband character screen, I am excited that there will be new backgrounds that can be unlocked, including one from the Ohn’arhan Plains and one from the Gallagio in Undermine.  Players will also be able to create multiple, with a max of 20, camp groups.

There will be some small changes to the Map and Quest Log, but the most major one, in my opinion, is the new Event Tab.  This tab will have information about the events in Khaz Algar allowing players to keep track of weekly events and set reminders for upcoming timed events.  In theory this means I will no longer miss a Theater Troupe event because I was preoccupied with gathering herbs.

Other updates involve hunter pet specializations, the Addon menu, and other smaller changes that can be found here.
