Introduction

Welcome everyone to another week in World of Warcraft (Retail Edition)!  As always, for more in depth information, there are numerous places to find information about the week’s events.  I will only ever cover those events that may be relevant for solo, or solo-ish (those comfortable with using group finder), players.  I do not include information about raiding, Mythic+, or any other high-level group content.  Other sources of information on this material include: WoWhead, Blizzard Watch, Blizzard’s World of Warcraft website, Icy Veins, etc.  Now that we’ve taken care of that disclaimer, hopefully some of you are still here so let’s move on.

**Please note that quests and events mentioned below are often located in the Adventure Guide as well.  If you have trouble grinding a quest giver, I suggest checking your Guide.

**NEW PATCH**

I will, hopefully, post more about the new patch content later but I wanted to mention it here first (and in case I don’t manage to post about as soon as I would like).

There are two new quests to pick up in Foundation Hall (where the Earthen Council are) in Dornogal.  Alleria Windrunner is giving the “Lingering Shadows” quest, which seems to be a continuation of the main storyline.  The second quest is “The Expedition Awaits,” which seems to be the starting point for the Siren Isle content.  I have not started either of these but, again, will hopefully have information to post soon.  For those of you who have picked them up, what do you think so far?

World Boss

The World Boss is Orta, the Broken Mountain in the City of Threads in Azj-Kahet.  This one is not great and, unless you’re a better player than I am with a better-geared character, is also hard to do when not in a group.  I find that, without the healing supplied by the group, I end up dying a lot.  Honestly, even with group healing, I still end up dying, just not as much.

Weekly Quests

The Weekly Dungeon Quest is The Stonevault.  I find this one to be one of the easier ones so I’m looking forward to this.  It’s one of the few dungeons I’ve done with a PUG rather than as a follower dungeon.  As always, completion and turn in allow you to choose a rep reward for the War Within faction of your choice.

This week is Cataclysm Timewalking (more on this in the “Holidays, Bonus Weeks, and Other Events” section below).  This means there is a quest, “A Shattered Path Through Time,” to defeat either 5 timewalking raid bosses or 5 timewalking dungeons.  Completion and turn in yield a Cache of Nerubian Treasure (which provides a piece of ilvl 597 equipment) and some Bronze Celebration Tokens.

Also available this week is another “Archives: Seeking History” quest from High Speaker Brinthe.  Players are asked to collect 100 titan disc fragments from dungeons, delves, rares, and treasures.  Turning in this quest will give a Pinnacle Cache and Bronze Celebration Tokens.  It should also allow players to see the next bit of lore about Azeroth, the Titans, and the Earthen.

World Events

As always, World Events include The Theatre Troupe (in the Isle of Dorn), Awakening the Machine (in the Ringing Deeps), Spreading the Light (in Hallowfall), and Forging a Pact (in Ajz-Kahet).

Players can also complete Bountiful Delves, Special Assignment World Quests, and World Soul Memories (Radiant Echoes).  These rotate around the zones so make sure to check your map for current locations.

Also remember that the Hallowfall Fishing Derby takes place on Saturdays.

Holidays, Bonus Weeks, and Other Events

The Anniversary Event is ongoing still, though it will end soon on January 6th.

As previously mentioned, this week is Cataclysm Timewalking, which brings not only the raid/dungeon quest, but also the “Sign of the Destroyer” buff which increases Cataclysm rep from combat and quests by 50%.

Partway through the week, on December 19th, the Feast of Winter Veil holiday will begin.  The main hub for this holiday is in Ironforge.  It has its own set of quests and events which I will also hopefully post about soon.  The holiday will run until January 5th.

PvP

Since the Anniversary Event is still going on, Korrak’s Revenge is still available to queue into.

The Brawl for the week is the Temple of Hotmogu.

Sparks of War is in Hallowfall this week.

Misc.

As always, remember to complete your weekly Profession quests and gather your Odd Globs of Wax.

Remember, also, to keep an eye on the Traveler’s Log to earn your extra tenders for the month.  Completing this month’s Log also will give you a purple murloc onesie.
