Introduction
Welcome everyone to another week in World of Warcraft (Retail Edition)! As always, for more in depth information, there are numerous places to find information about the week’s events. I will only ever cover those events that may be relevant for solo, or solo-ish (those comfortable with using group finder), players. I do not include information about raiding, Mythic+, or any other high-level group content. Other sources of information on this material include: WoWhead, Blizzard Watch, Blizzard’s World of Warcraft website, Icy Veins, etc. Now that we’ve taken care of that disclaimer, hopefully some of you are still here so let’s move on.
**Please note that quests and events mentioned below are often located in the Adventure Guide as well. If you have trouble grinding a quest giver, I suggest checking your Guide.
World Boss
This week’s World Boss is Shurrai, Atrocity of the Undersea. Located in northern Hallowfall, this is a pretty straight forward process of using group finder, joining a group, and working to kill the boss.
Weekly Quests
The weekly Dungeon Quest is Darkflame Quest, which can be completed in a Follower Dungeon and rewards rep to the War Within faction of your choice.
This week “Call of the World Soul” is also available. On offer from Faerin Lothar are the following choices: complete World Quests, complete the Forging a Pact event, defeat the World Boss and some rares, and complete Heroic: The Dawnbreaker.
The Bonus Week Quest is “Emissary of War,” which asks players to complete four dungeons of Heroic or Mythic difficulty. While this is definitely a solo-ish quest, it could pair nicely with The Dawnbreaker choice and with completing the Weekly Dungeon Quest.
Note that the Classic Timewalking Event Quest, “An Original Path Through Time,” is also still available to complete.
World Events
As always, the events are the Theater Troupe at the Proscenium on the Isle of Dorn, Awakening the Machine in the Ringing Deeps, Spreading the Light in Hallowfall, and Forging a Pact in Ajz-Kahet. More details on these events can be found in previous This Week in WoW posts or on other sites.
Remember that the World Soul Memories (Radiant Echoes) event is also a daily rotational event. Check the World Map for locations.
Also, I have been remiss in mentioning the Hallowfall Fishing Derby, which occurs every Saturday.
Holidays, Bonus Weeks, and Other Events
The Anniversary Event is still going on, so you can still participate in Anniversary activities to get the extra 10% Rep and XP buff. Bronze Celebration Tokens are also still available for completing various Anniversary and War Within activities as well.
The Bonus Week is Sign of the Warrior, which causes the final boss of each War Within dungeon to drop an extra item.
Classic Timewalking is still ongoing, with rep gains with Classic factions increased by 50%.
PvP
This week’s Brawl is Cooking Impossible, which I have been reliably led to believe is a little more soloish-friendly. Players can engage in PvP gameplay but they can also focus on finding ingredients for their team. Of course, being a PvP event, there are no guarantees that you won’t end up being attacked or having to fight with other players.
Sparks of War is in Azj-Kahet this week if that’s something you look forward to.
Battleground Blitz is also an option if you like queuing for fast-paced, pugged PvP.
Finally, remember that with the Anniversary Event comes Korrak’s Revenge, still queueable throughout the duration of the event.
Misc.
As always, remember to complete your professions quests in Dornogal.
Check your Map to find where the daily Bountiful Delves are. These are the only Delves that will level Brann Bronzebeard and progress your Season 1 Delves Journey.
Also, Keep an eye out for the Special Assignment World Quests. These unlock after completing a certain number of World Quests in a particular zone. These rotate so please check your Map. Special Assignments look like they have a ribbon attached to their Map icon.
Continue to complete Travelers Log Activities for the December Trading Post.
Finally, I have forgotten to add Collecting Wax for the Kobolds in the Ringing Deeps. I believe the quest asks you to collect 10 Odd Globs of Wax per week.
