Introduction

Welcome everyone to another week in World of Warcraft (Retail Edition)!  As always, for more in depth information, there are numerous places to find information about the week’s events.  I will only ever cover those events that may be relevant for solo, or solo-ish (those comfortable with using group finder), players.  I do not include information about raiding, Mythic+, or any other high-level group content.  Other sources of information on this material include: WoWhead, Blizzard Watch, Blizzard’s World of Warcraft website, Icy Veins, etc.  Now that we’ve taken care of that disclaimer, let’s move on.

Please note that many of the events and activities described below can be completed to earn Traders Tender.  Please check your Traveler’s Log to see the qualifying events and activities for this month.

Also, while many of the quests for these activities can be picked up in Dornogal, some can be accepted from your Adventure Guide.  This can be an easy way to pick up Weekly Quests without having to travel.

World Boss

This week’s world boss is Shurrai, Atrocity of the Undersea in Hallowfall.  Unlike last week, this week is your regular run-of-the-mill World Boss.  You can try your luck at being in the area at a time when a group is already attacking or use Group Finder.  Please note that groups are generally easier to find towards the beginning of the week and during peak server hours.

Weekly Quests

This week’s dungeon quest is Ara-Kara, City of Echoes.  Watch out for the holes in the webbing that connects the various platforms.  For solo players this can be done as a Follower Dungeon; for solo-ish players this could be done on Normal or Heroic difficulty through using Group Finder.  If you run it as a follower dungeon, be careful not to follow the NPCs without looking where you are going; the NPCs don’t seem to fall through the holes.

If, like me, you experienced an inability to use Group Finder for Classic Timewalking you may be relieved to find that it seems to be back this week.  “An Original Path Through Time,” which is a timewalking dungeon quest, is back this week.  Players are asked to defeat 5 Timewalking dungeons for Bronze Celebration tokens, Timewalking Badges, and a Bronze Celebration Cache of Treasures.

If you did not finish High Speaker Brinthe’s quest to 100 titan disc fragments please note that the quest should still be in your quest log.  These fragments can come from dungeons, but also delves, rares, and treasures in all Khaz Algar zones.

Brann Bronzebeard offers up the quest “Empire-ical Exploration” which asks players to complete 2 unique Delves in Hallowfall.  Upon completing and turning in the quest players will receive both Bronze Celebration Tokens and a Pinnacle Cache.

World Events

As always there are the four main Outdoor World Events in Khaz Algar.  Spreading the Light is the event in Hallowfall and requires players to light small fires at different locations in the northeast part of the zone.  There are also a wide variety of world quests and mini-events that will occur within this region as well.  Generally this event attracts a variety of players and can, in my experience, be fairly easily accomplished without a formalized group.

Awakening the Machine is in The Ringing Deeps and requires players to defeat as many waves of mobs, up to a maximum of 20, as possible.  Every 5 waves the NPC will pause, which gives a chance to heal, drink and/or eat, etc.  To start the next round of 5 waves just speak to the NPC to tell him you are ready to continue.  Rewards depend on the number of waves defeated.  This event can be completed as a solo player.

The Theatre Troupe at The Proscenium occurs every hour on the hour and can be easily completed without a formal group.  Players check in with the lead NPC who will give players various tasks to complete before the Play begins.  Once the Play starts players will be tasked with different actions to participate as actors until the Play, and the event, are finished.  Please note that this event can be prone to lag spikes.

The fourth World Event is the Severing Threads Pact quest.  Players choose one of the three Severed Threads leaders (the Weaver, the Vizier, or the General) to forge a Pact with for their Warband that week.  Players will then receive a bar that they can fill by completing World Quests and other activities in Azj-Kahet.

Holidays, Bonus Weeks, and Other Events

As was the case last week, this section is pretty full this week.  The Anniversary Event is still ongoing.  The event’s daily quests can be picked up outside the Caverns of Time in Tanaris.

The Moonking Festival is today (Tuesday November 12, 2024).  Visit Moonglade to participate in the Festival and earn yourself 5 Moonkin Hatchlings to follow you around for a few days.

This week is the World Quest Bonus Week.  Reputation gains from World Quests are increased by 50%.  This applies not only to the Khaz Algar World Quests, but also to World Quests from previous expansions as well.

This week also has, as previously mentioned, Classic Timewalking which allows players to complete certain Classic dungeons.  Blackrock Depths is the Timewalking raid

Remember that many of these events and activities can also earn Traders Tender.

PvP

The PvP Brawl is Comp Stomp, a variation on Arathi Basin, which can be queued into through Group Finder.  This brawl is possibly the best one for non-PvPers since it isn’t really PvP.  Players in this Brawl fight against NPC opponents instead of against other players.  Matches are generally pretty quick and, at least in my experience, pretty much never result in a loss.  If you’re someone who wants some PvP currency for gear, transmog, etc. this is probably the easiest way to earn it.

Korrak’s Revenge, the Anniversary PvP event, is also still available through Group Finder.  Make sure to pick up the quest for it in Tanaris first.  Sparks of War, for those interested in outdoor PvP content, is located in the Hallowfall this week.

Misc.

Also available are Bountiful Delves and Radiant Echoes Wordsoul Memories, which rotate locations daily.  Players can check their World Map to see the current locations.  Bountiful Delves will look gold instead of the normal brown door icon.  Worldsoul Memories look like a circle of Azerite on the World Map.

Remember that Restored Coffer Keys are required to open the Bountiful Coffers, which offer extra loot, at the end of Bountiful Delves.  Keys can be collected in a variety of ways.  100 Coffer Key Shards (a reward from some World Quests, Radiant Echoes, and other outdoor events) can be combined to create a Restored Coffer Key.  Once you reach Delver’s Journey level 7, Keys can be purchased from Sir Finley Mrrgglton in Dornogal for 2000 Undercoin.  Keys can also come from your first four World Events that you complete and at certain Renown levels with the main Khaz Algar factions.
