Welcome everyone to another week in World of Warcraft (Retail Edition)! As always, for more in depth information, there are numerous places to find information about the week’s events. I will only ever cover those events that may be relevant for solo, or solo-ish (those comfortable with using group finder), players. I do not include information about raiding, Mythic+, or any other high-level group content. Other sources of information on this material include: WoWhead, Blizzard Watch, Blizzard’s World of Warcraft website, Icy Veins, etc. Now that we’ve taken care of that disclaimer, hopefully some of you are still here so let’s move on.
World Boss
This week’s World Boss is Kordac in the Isle of Dorn. This one is more solo-ish than solo since you’ll need to join a group. Thankfully, the group finder button on the world quest tracker makes it easy to find, or even start, a group. Groups are easier to find earlier in the week, but are generally not overly difficult to find later on as well. World Boss fights are generally fairly quick, include no social interaction, and only need to be done once per week.
One last note: Sources generally say that killing the World Boss counts towards the “World Activities” on the Great Vault. It did not for me this week, and I found a forum post that suggests it might be a bug. So, fair warning, though the world boss will still provide crests, resonance crystals, and a chance for gear (see the gear list below).
Kordac has a chance to drop the following:
Mail Chest
Cloth Chest
Plate Waist
Cloth Waist
Leather Legs
Plate Legs
Leather Feet
Ail Feet
Crit./Vers. Ring
Weekly Quests
First, a note about last week’s Timewalking quest (An Original Path Through Time) that could be picked up in Dornogal: if you did not complete it last week, as I did not, it should still be available for you to complete this week with all of your last week’s progress still applied towards completion. If you still need to complete it, it is still available and can be easily picked up through the Adventure Guide. Having not completed it myself last week, I am unsure if it is repeatable from one week to another. Completing the quest will secure two slots in the dungeon row of the Great Vault. Classic Timewalking, coupled with the 50% increase in reputation gains for Classic factions, is still going this week.
Speaking of reputation, the World Soul Quest seems to give four options this week: World Boss (kill the World Boss and 5 other rares in Khaz Algar), World Quests (complete 6), Snuffling (dig 5 disturbed earth piles and collect 45 Worldsoul Motes while skyriding), and City of Threads (complete this dungeon on heroic difficulty or higher). World Quests and Snuffling are solo friendly, while the World Boss is solo-ish. City of Threads will require a group, whether through Group Finder or some other grouping method.
The dungeon quest, solo-ish friendly with the Group Finder and solo-friendly with follower dungeons, is the Priory of The Sacred Flame in Hallowfall.
World Activities
While the PvP weekly quest (Arena Skirmishes) is not particularly solo or solo-ish solo-ish friendly, the other four events are, as always, available. The Proscenium and Spreading the Light are solo-ish friendly, while the Awakening the Machine event can be attempted and completed solo. Azj-Kahet’s Pact quest can also be completed solo, as each world quest in the zone yields 20% towards completion of the quest. Each event should count towards the World Activities row in the Great Vault.
Holidays, Bonus Weeks, and Other Events
This week is busy as a lot of events are going on right now, or are soon to start, and I won’t be going into details on what to do during the events–that’s a different post altogether. The 20th Anniversary event is ongoing this week, as is Hallow’s End. The Day of the Dead event will start at reset on November 1 and will end at reset on November 3. Darkmoon Faire begins on November 3.
PvP
The PvP bonus event is The Sign of the Skirmisher, with honor gains from Arena Skirmishes increased by 50%. The Brawl is Arathi Blizzard.
Misc.
As always, bountiful delves will rotate around and drop extra gear, increasing in ilvl up to level 8 delves. Delves that are not bountiful will still have a chance to drop gear, and the usual valorstones, crests, and resonance crystals. Please note that Season 1 Delve progress, along with Magni’s leveling, only increases during bountiful delves.
