Introduction
Welcome everyone to another week in World of Warcraft (Retail Edition)! As always, for more in depth information, there are numerous places to find information about the week’s events. I will only ever cover those events that may be relevant for solo, or solo-ish (those comfortable with using group finder), players. I do not include information about raiding, Mythic+, or any other high-level group content. Other sources of information on this material include: WoWhead, Blizzard Watch, Blizzard’s World of Warcraft website, Icy Veins, etc. Now that we’ve taken care of that disclaimer, hopefully some of you are still here so let’s move on.
**Please note that quests and events mentioned below are often located in the Adventure Guide as well. If you have trouble grinding a quest giver, I suggest checking your Guide.
World Boss
Khaz Algar’s World Boss this week is Kordac, Activation Protocol in the Isle of Dorn. There is, of course, also The Gobfather, located in Undermine.
Weekly Quests and Bonus Weeks
Our Dungeon Rep Quest for the week is Operation: Floodgate.
This week is Classic Timewalking, which includes the “Sign of the Past” buff which increases Classic reputation gains from combat and quests by 50%. The associated quest, “An Original Path Through Time,” asks players to complete 5 Timewalking dungeons in return for a ilvl 636 Cache of Undermine Treasures.
Brinthe is again offering ”Archives: Seeking History,” quest, asking players to collect 100 titan disc fragments.
In Undermine players can pick the Side Gig Quest at Slam Central Station. Additional weekly quests can be picked up at the hotel. I will be honest and admit that I still, even in May, have yet to complete a weekly or daily loop in Undermine.
Since I spent April taking a break from much of WoW I have yet to run the Nightfall Event in Hallowfall, but I believe there are a weekly quest and three daily quests per week.
Special Events
The Winds of Mysterious Fortune buff to experience and rep gains is also still going on until May 20th.
Turbo Charge, which should go through the end of Season 2, brings Raid and Mythic+ weekly quests and changes to gear acquisition. I won’t cover that in any detail here since covering more organized, higher level group content is not my goal for these posts. However it also brings some changes to Delves and some changes to Professions and Currencies. First up, Valorstones should now be Warband bound and thus able to be transferred between your characters. Be warned though that 20% of your Valorstones will be lost in the transfer. Also of note in the currency changes: the cap for Crests is gone, which can make upgrading gear for your main or any alts a bit faster and/or easier.
This could be especially useful when running Delves, which have also been boosted. Brann’s experience gains, Delver’s Journey progress, Crests, and Valorstones should all be increased as well. For Professions, Augmentation Matrices are now being sold or Gilded Crests from Llande, the Enchanting Supplies vendor, and Syenite, the Enchanted Crests vendor in Dornogal.
PvP
The PvP Brawl for the week is Shadow-pan Showdown.
The Sparks of War quest this week is in Undermine.
Misc.
The Trading Post for May is, of course, still ongoing, with a really cool (in my opinion) monthly reward of a customizable pet.
