Introduction
Welcome everyone to another week in World of Warcraft (Retail Edition)! As always, for more in depth information, there are numerous places to find information about the week’s events. I will only ever cover those events that may be relevant for solo, or solo-ish (those comfortable with using group finder), players. I do not include information about raiding, Mythic+, or any other high-level group content. Other sources of information on this material include: WoWhead, Blizzard Watch, Blizzard’s World of Warcraft website, Icy Veins, etc. Now that we’ve taken care of that disclaimer, hopefully some of you are still here so let’s move on.
*There are weekly activities in Undermine but I am still working out that loop. Hopefully I’ll be able to include it in next week’s post.
**Please note that quests and events mentioned below are often located in the Adventure Guide as well. If you have trouble grinding a quest giver, I suggest checking your Guide.
World Boss
Season 2 brings two World Bosses. One of the World Bosses is Shurrai, Atrocity of the Sea in Hallowfall. There is also the new World Boss, The Gobfather, located in Undermine. Appropriately, this boss is very big on bombs, rockets, and other explosive devices.
Weekly Quests and Bonus Weeks
Our Dungeon Rep Quest for the week is City of Threads.
March 4th is the start of two Bonus Weeks: the Battleground Bonus Event and the Pet Battle Bonus Event. In addition to the buffs (Battle pet experience increased by 100%; Honor from Battlegrounds increased by 50%), there are also the corresponding quests. “The Very Best” rewards an Ultimate Battle-Training Stone for defeating 5 players through Find Battle with a team of lvl25 pets. “A Call to Battle” asks players to win 4 Battleground Matches in exchange for 5 Marks of Honor and 175 Conquest.
This week also gives us “The Call of the Worldsoul,” from Faerin Lothar. Our choices this week are Undermine Explorer (“complete various activities in Undermine”), Forging a Pact (also includes killing some Khaz Algar rares), Completing a War Within Delve on any difficulty, and killing “all available World Bosses in the War Within”. Presumably this last one means killing both Shurrai in Hallowfall and The Gobfather in Undermine.
Special Events
This week sees the continuation of the Kalimdor Cup (ongoing until March 11th) and of Darkmoon Faire (ongoing until March 8th).
Since Season 2 starts this week, players interested in Delves should go see Brann who offers a quest to introduce Delvers to the new Season.
PvP
The end of Warsong Scramble gives us the start of Cooking Impossible, a unique PvP Brawl where players can go out and collect ingredients for a cooking competition. Of course, players can attack other players during the Brawl as well.
Sparks of War this week is in Undermine.
Misc.
Don’t forget about the Trading Post either. There are some activities in the Travelers Log for the Kalimdor Cup and the Darkmoon Faire for those who are interested.
